This is the day God made

By Godschild · Comments (0)
Friday, July 2nd, 2010

I’m struggling a bit today with being selfless and serving others but have asked God to help me.  God is good and faithful!    I believe as a christian that God will help me if I seek him and give me strength and courage if I ask..Just because  we have God in our lives, it does not mean we will go through life all peachy…but it means that God will help us through everything and will guide and direct us in a better path and way to get through it all.   His plans are much better then mine..NO comparison!  I need God and thank him for his love, wisdom, and his grace in my life.  Without him..I would not exist.   If people think because they are christians , they will have it easy, they won’t but God’s ways are so much better then ours!  I would not trade God being in my life for anything!  I love him!   He saved me ( John 3:3)  and I have learned so much from trusting in him for my life..even in the difficult times.

How the Bible Ends–Let The Thirsty One Come–Anyone who wants too!

Revelations 22:12

See I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay everyone according to the deeds he has done. I am the A and the Z, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Blessed for ever are all who are washing their robes, to have the right to enter in through the gates of the city, and to eat the friut from teh tree of life.

Outside the city are those who have strayed away from God, and the sorcerers and the immoral and the murderers and idolaters, and all who love to lie and do it. I, Jesus, have sent my angle ot you to tell you the churches all these things. I am both David’s root and his descendant. I am the bright Morning Star. The spirit and the bride say, “Come, Let each one who hears them say the same, Come. Let the thirsty one come–anyone who wants to; let him come and drink the water of life without charge. And I solemnly declare to everyone who reads this book; if anyone adds anything to what is written here, God shall add to him hte jplagues described in this book. And if anyone subtracts any part of thes prophecies, God shall take away his share in the tree of life, and in the Holy City just described.

He who has said all these things declares: “Yes, I am coming Soon!”

Amen! Come Lord Jesus!

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

________________________________________________

I love the lines “Come, Let each one who hears them say the same, Come. Let the thirsty one come–anyone who wants to; let him come and drink the water of life without charge.”

There is a hope and a future life that is eternal and knows no sin. It is available to anyone who wants it. It is free to all. It is the way, the truth and the light by which we can truely live.

There is freedom and hope beyond what this crazy daily life that we see going on with our eyes around us.

There is true freedom in Christ awaiting those who want it. And the time is coming soon.

The Truth of this World Versus The Voice of Truth

By sam · Comments (0)
Monday, June 28th, 2010
This music video by casting crowns is one of my favorites. The truth of this world is upside down most of the time.

But the voice of truth tells me a different story. The voice of truth says do not be afraid.

I will CHOOSE to listen and believe the Voice of Truth.

Jesus, your word is the truth I choose. Your voice is the voice I choose to listen to.

Help me hear your voice and understand the truth of your words.

the Voice of truth says “do not be afraid!”
and the Voice of truth says “this is for My glory”

He had everything going for him…Did he trust God?

By sam · Comments (0)
Monday, June 28th, 2010
This story makes me really sad. It is one of I am sure many to come out of the Gulf spill where lives are being swept away b the oil. When I see this news pieces and see the quote..”He had everything going for him. He was at the top of his game”

Now I don’t know all the details of this man’s life and I am not going to claim weather or not he had God in his life. But I find it hard to believe that anyone that walks closely with God would take his own life. Despair struck at the core of this life. His life centered around fishing. As it says in the news story. He was one heck of a fisherman.

Some of Jesus’ disciples where fishermen, Jesus beckoned them to become Fishers of Men.

Lord, I pray for not only this man’s family who have suffered a tremendous loss, but for all the families in the Gulf who are suffering. I beg you to turn their hearts from cold, to turn them to you. You are our Rock! You are our salvation!

The ways of this world will always disappoint! But our hope in you is everlasting and we have freedom and peace from all the things of this world when we put our trust in you God.

Help to make the hearts of the people of the Gulf turn to you for the answers. All the answers to life’s issues are in your words.

Oil Spill ‘Too Much’ for Skipper Who Killed Self

(June 24) — Two weeks after he was hired by BP to help with the oil spill cleanup, William Allen Kruse killed himself.
The 55-year-old charter boat captain shot himself in the head Wednesday morning as he prepared to spend another day skimming oil off the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, clearing the spill that threatened to destroy his livelihood and community.
Kruse left no note, so it’s impossible to know why he took his life. But those who knew him say the veteran fisherman and father of four was almost certainly the latest casualty in the gulf oil crisis, and a symbol of the spill’s exacting human toll.
“He had everything going for him. He was at the top of his game,” Ard said. “He was the kind of guy that made everyone smile, and he was one heck of a fisherman.”

What Do You Value Most In Your Life?

By sam · Comments (0)
Monday, June 28th, 2010

This is a critical question for everyone to answer. It is the plumbline by which you and I live by.

What do you value most in your life? For most people it is things related to money or what money can buy.

What do you think upon throughout your day?

What choices do you make throughout your day and what basis are they made from? Where did the decision you made on those choices come from? Who did you consult?

Psalms 127:1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the builder’s work is useless.

What happens to you when life strikes? How do you handle the difficult circumstances that come your way? Are you steady and leaning on God because you walk with him daily, or do you emotionally jump all over the place when serious and difficult circumstances come to you?

There was a really sad story recently about a fisherman from New Orleans who has been affected by the Gulf oil spill and has lost his livelihood. Everything he has know has been tied up in what he does. He placed his trust in the worlds system and it let him down. Usually the world’s system will let you down because it is built by men, and not necessarily from God. Unfortunately the circumstances that are happening in the Gulf became too much for this man and he took his life and shot himself on his boat the “Rookie”. He lost Hope. He Trusted in his way and man’s way of life and life swallowed him up.

Psalms 119:43 May I never forget your words; for they are my only hope

Had he been walking a path that included the Lord and put his trust in God FIRST, he would not have taken his life. I truely believe that because I believe the word of God and I have seen this in action. Christians and those who walk closely and daily with the Lord handle circumstances and trials of life differently.

Psalms 125:1 Those who trust the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstances.

That verse doesn’t say some circumstances, it says ALL. There is a level of faith where you will be unmoved by any circumstances.

How do you get to that point?

It comes back to what do you value most in your life? What comes first in your life?

Do your dreams and goals in life come from you or are you here to do the will of God and follow his plan for your life?

people Value Iphones more than GodMost of us, and at times, myself included, have chased after what this world has offered…STUFF…MORE STUFF..Daily we are told to go after the latest and greatest. A good example of this is the release of the Iphone 4. People slept outside for 2 days waiting for the release of the iphone 4. It is obvious where there heart is! Do you see those same people lining up for Church on Friday afternoon for Sunday Service? I hate to tell you but you are NOT GOING to be taking your Iphone 4 with you when you die.

You are not taking your Ford Mustang GTX with you when you die.

You are not taking with you all the money you are accumulating…

Psalms 119:36 Help me to prefer obedience to making money! Turn me away from wanting any other plan than yours. Revive my heart towards yours.

The Most valuable thing you have is the Word of God

It’s the only thing you will take with you when you leave this earth.

Turn from this world and put your trust in God. Put your highest Value of time, energy and money into the Kingdom of Heaven. Seek the will of God not your will.

Psalms 118:8 It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men. It is better to take refuge in him than in the mightiest King.

Is this Revelations 8:8 and The Burning Mountain?

This picture is a stark reminder to me of the revelations scripture in 8:8. Not that I am claiming this to be the fulfillment of this scripture, but could it be?

As prophecy goes it is so difficult to decipher. Additionally, it seems the other things would have to happen for this scripture to be fulfilled.

Revelations 8:8 says “Then the 2nd angel blew his trumpet, and what appeared to be a huge burning mountain was thrown into the sea, destroying a third of all the ships; and a third of the sea turned read as blood; and a third of the fish were killed.”

The Whole Truth

THE WHOLE TRUTH
By Carol Clark
Rev. 22:18-19 “ And I solemnly declare to everyone who reads this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God shall add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone subtracts any part of these prophecies, God shall take away his share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City just described.:
This year I’m actually doing it….I’m a little behind schedule, but I’m actually doing it! What “great accomplishment” am I bragging about? Nothing noteworthy, but for me it’s a first. I’m actually reading through the entire Bible in a year.
I’ve started this before (many times!). I know Genesis real well, but I usually get so far behind I just quit before I ever make it to Ruth. But this time I’m actually staying with it.
You might be thinking I’m feeling pretty proud of myself, but actually I’ve received the humbling revelation that I do not know this book very well at all….in fact I feel as if I’m reading some sections for the first time. That’s a pretty lame condition for someone who has been a Christian for 40 years!
The Word of GOD! Wow! Right here at my fingertips in multiple translations, and I’ve really taken this gift for granted. I have favorite parts that I like to read, but now I’m encountering more difficult passages, that baffle me and lead me to say, “God is that really you? I don’t understand!!!” God is full of both Grace and Truth. He is Holy. He is Sovereign. As psalm 97 says, “Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of His Throne.”
I have the common tendency to limit God to my understanding and my comfort zone, and when I read His words and actions that don’t fit under that umbrella, I don’t like the experience….I tend to want to push that part of God away. When I choose to accept only part of who God is as my Lord, I am guilty of creating an Idol, a made-up god who behaves the way I can predict, who fits into my little world, like a statue on a shelf.
If I only gaze upon one side of Jesus’ face, I will never recognize him when He walks into my life!
God forgive me and lead me to humbly sit at Your feet and hear Your Word, Your Every Word, even if it leads to the utter confusion of my limited mind. You are sovereign. You are Lord of all. I’m not in Your league. Your thoughts and words and works are way higher than mine. Help me to embrace all of Your Truth, not just part that tickles my ears. Take root in me and change me, to give glory to you Son, Jesus.

The Power of God’s Forgiveness

The Power of God’s Forgiveness

Scriptures are from the Living Bible:

Isaiah 43:12 Whenever you have thrown away your idols, I have shown you my power. With one word I have saved you. You have seen me do it; you are my witnesses that this is true. From eternity to eternity I am God. No on can oppose what I do.

Matthew 6:14 Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you.

Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to him and asked, “Sir how often should I forgive a brother who sins against me? Seven times?

“No”, Jesus replied, “seventy times seven!

Mark 11:25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in haven will forgive you your sins too.”

Luke 6:37 Never criticize or condemn–or it will all come back on you. GO easy on others; then they will do the same for you.

Forgiveness is a daily issue in our lives. This is a practical principle we all deal with as we encounter life…To forgive and by the grace of God we are also forgiven.
