Where do you Give Your Glory? To God or To yourself?

How all things are to be referred to God as the end of every work From the Imitation of Christ

My son, says our Savior Christ, I must be the end of all your works, if you desire to be happy and blessed. If you refer all goodness to me, from whom all goodness comes, then all your inward affections will be purified and made clean, which otherwise would be evil and center on yourself and other people. If you seek yourself as the goal of your work in anything, you soon fall short in your activities, and become dry and barren of all the refreshment of grace. And so, you must refer all things to me, for I give all. Behold all things as they are, flowing and springing forth from my sovereign goodness, and reduce all things to me as to the original beginning. From me both great and small, poor and rich, draw the water of life as from a quick springing well.

Walking Like Christ

God has instructed us and wants us to walk beyond what the Mirror of This World Reflects.

No sooner are we told by Paul that we must act as mirrors of Christ than we recognize that nature has made us to be mirrors, that we cannot but reflect what is passing before us.

You are walking along the street, and, a little child runs before a car; you shrink back as if you were in danger. You see a man fall from a scaffolding, crushed; your face takes on an expression of pain, reflecting what is passing in him. You go and spend an evening with a man much stronger, much purer, much saner, than yourself, and you come away knowing yourself a stronger and a better man.

Why?

Because you are a mirror, because in your inmost nature you have responded to and reflected the good that was in him.

HOW TO BECOME Similar to Jesus.

We Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18 From the Living Bible

I suppose there is nearly no one that would refuse, if perhaps it had been put to him, the fact that the greatest attainable accomplishment a person can certainly make in this world is without a doubt likeness to The Lord Jesus Christ.

Definitely nobody would deny that there is only reputation that individuals can conduct out of life with us, thinking that each of our possibility of good in virtually any long term future reality will surely vary with the resemblance of our identity compared to that connected with Jesus Christ.

We all confess this; but virtually each one of us bargains to him or her self some apology because of not being similar to Jesus, and also has hardly any kind of apparent truthfulness of intent to become comparable to Him. The key reason why, all of us say to our self, or all of us say in this approach, it really is not possible in a planet like ours is, to become perfectly holy.
