Scripture verse of the day
Isaiah 58: 11 the Lord will guide you continually
Scripture reading of the day
Isaiah 59 1 -2, 16-21
Listen now! The Lord isn’t too weak to save you. And he isn’t getting deaf! He can hear you when you call! But the trouble is that your sins have cut off from God. Because of sin he has turned his face away from you and will not listen anymore.
Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who tries a batter life is soon attacked. The Lord saw all the evil and was displeased to find no steps taken against an. He saw no one was helping you, and wondered that no one intervenes. Therefore he himself stepped in to save you through his mighty power and justice. He put on righteousness as armor, and the helmet of salvation on his head. He clothed with robes of vengeance and of godly fury. He will repay his enemies for their evil deeds – fury for his foes in distant lands. Then at last they will reverence and glorify the name of God from east to west. For he will come like a flood-tide driven by Jehovah’s breathe. He will come as the Redeemer to those in Zion who have turned away from sin.
As for me, this is my promise to them, says the Lord: my Holy Spirit shall not leave them, and they shall want the good and hate the wrong – they and their children and their children’s children forever.
Sam’s Response
Why does God not move sometimes? Or better yet, why do we not see it?
Sin permeates this world. It surrounds us and tempts us continuously. We allow what we see to influence what we believe.
Most people will not call sin by its name…SIN..
There are ways to a man that seem right but in the end it ends in destruction.
It is very interesting that God has used the meek and humble to do great things for his kingdom. Why?
It is easy to fall prey to pride. When God moves in our lives, our human nature is to tell others about the great things God is dong. But, what is the posture of your heart?
I have boasted about God’s working in my life and at times have may implied an attitude of “Look at me and look what God is doing!”…
As I continue on my 3rd year of reading Smith Wigglesworth daily devotions, I see many miracles of Healing that God performed in the surroundings of Smith. God used this man to bring the Good News to many people. There are stories just like in the Days when Jesus was here, where Smith Wigglesworth, full of faith, saw moments where God Showed up in the name of Jesus, and miraculously cured horrific ailments of many kinds.
God is calling us to believe. Jesus said if you just had the faith of a mustard seed. What is holding us back from having a faith like Jesus or Smith Wigglesworth?
I believe that a big part of it is our inability to get beyond the mire of our own lives. We can not see beyond the problems that are thrown are way, and when they are thrown are way, we do not handle them with faith, we handle them with our own eyes and actions.
We are called to do greater things….but until we get off the merry-go-round of ourselves, we can not step out and do for others what Jesus wants us to do.
Lord, help us to develop eyes that go way beyond what we physically see. Help us to move beyond our own needs and look to the needs of others. You promise to guide us continually and protect us from behind and ahead. How great is that! Let us completely trust every part of our lives to you and know that YOU ARE GOD. And we are yours.
If there is sin that is preventing us for accessing you on a higher plane, then show us and help us to repent, fast and remove the sin from our lives because we desire to move out of our own thoughts and begin to see what you see. Help us to be tuned into what you are doing and use us for your Glory so that others may take notice and desire what we have.
