Scripture Verse of the Day
Matthew 9:35
Jesus traveled around through all the cities and villages of that area, preaching in the Jewish synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And wherever he went he healed people of every sort of illness.
Scripture Reading of the Day
Psalm 147
Hallelujah! Yes praise the Lord! How good it is to sing his praises! How delightful, and how right!
He is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing back the exiles. He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great he is! His power is absolute! His understanding is unlimited. The Lord supports the humble, but brings the wicked into the dust. Sing out your thanks to him; sing praises to our God, Accompanied by harps. He covers the heavens with clouds, sends down the showers and makes the green grass grow in the mountain pastures. He feeds the wild animals and the young ravens cry to him for food. The speed of a horse is nothing to him. How puny in his sight is the strength of a man. But his joy is in those who reverence him, those who expect him to be living and kind.
Praise him, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! For he has fortified your gates against all enemies, and blessed your children. He sends peace across your nations and fills your barns with plenty of the finest wheat. He sends his orders to the world. How swiftly his word flies. He sends the snow in all its lovely whiteness, and scatters the frost upon the ground, and hurls the hail upon the earth. Who can stand before his freezing cold? But then he calls for warmer weather and the spring winds blow and all the river ice is broken. He has made known his laws and ceremonies of Worship to Israel—something he has not done with any other nation; they have not known his commands.
Hallelujah! Yes, Praise the Lord
Sam’s Response
It is difficult at times to imagine the limitless of God. We live in such a world that has so many limits. Our natural mind and bodies are well aware of such limitations.
People place limits on us as well…We work for someone and they put a limit on what we can make.
Everything around in this world that is made of or by man, is in a state of decay.
I live in Maine and right now we are in the throws of winter and I find that this scripture is very interesting and revealing. Maine winters are long and harsh. The dryness of the air causes or skin to dry out. There are no blooming flowers and most of the trees are bare. Everything is white and a dull brown, a brown that looks dead.
And who can stand before his freezing cold?
By this time, typically in Maine people are fretting about the weather and even myself recently I caught my self complaining and murmuring about the cold winter.
But the seasons will come, Spring will come just like it does every year. The leaves and flowers will bloom. God will shower upon the grass and make it grow.
I am not sure I would enjoy a climate that does not change seasons. It is special to see the rebirth of the earth here in Maine every year. Each season brings its own beauty if we are willing to look for it.
That is the problem a lot of times, we are not looking for it…
God’s power is absolute! His understanding is unlimited.
Will we embrace this thought and live above what this world says?
Will we take hold of the scriptures and the knowledge of God?
Will we allow our own minds to rule over us, or will we surrender and come into the Knowledge of God?
There are 2 directions to walk in, one is away from God and the other is towards his Holy Word.
Embrace the bible, hold it dear to your heart and trust God 100%. Let his thoughts surpass your own thoughts and allow him to shape and mold you like a potter molding his clay.
